Billboard: Six facts about Evanescence’s co-headlining Tour with Lindsey Stirling

Since Evanescence released its multiplatinum debut, Fallen, in 2003, band leader Amy Lee has taken her time in crafting successive albums. Her determination to make quality-driven music has resulted in a limited studio output that includes 2006’s The Open Door and 2011’s Evanescence. It’s a risky approach, but it doesn’t stress her too much.

“I really don’t worry about it. Maybe that sounds crazy, but I feel like too much emphasis is put on the time and maybe not enough on the products,” says the songwriter-performer. “I just want to make something great. If I can’t make something awesome that I’m not ready for or don’t believe in… I won’t make it.”

Evanescence announces Synthesis Live with DVD

And the day has arrived, Evanescence announced through its networks a new DVD.

And the news is….! We are very excited to announce that Synthesis Live with Orchestra, filmed on our tour by the one and only Paul Brown and mixed by Damian Taylor, will be available on DVD/Blu-Ray/Digital on 10/12. Pre-order your copy now! http://smarturl.it/evanescencelive

Here are the details of the launch:

In 2003, Evanescence released Fallen, one of the most decade-defining albums (and one of the most successful debut albums of all time) and have gone on to became one of the most well-loved & respected bands of their generation. In the 15 years since their debut, Evanescence founder and lead-singer, Amy Lee, toured the world, has scored motion picture films and even took a 3 year break to start a family. In late 2017, Evanescence re-emerged from their hiatus with Synthesis — a reimagining of their best-known songs with orchestra, electronics and an accompanying sold-out and highly acclaimed world tour.

On November 3, 2017 Evanescence performed Synthesis Live in front of a sold out crowd at the Grand Theater at Foxwoods Casino in CT.

Amy Lee: “The pressure comes when you feel like you can’t be yourself”

Evanescence will be hitting the east coast of Australia in February with their Synthesis – Live With Orchestra tour. We were lucky enough to chat with frontwoman Amy Lee ahead of the tour.

Performing with an orchestra that you can’t have multiple rehearsals with is no simple feat- what’s behind the decision to tour the upcoming album with local orchestras in each city?

It’s an incredible and intimidating thing. With 28 musicians being added to the band, I can’t really imagine how we would take them all on the road with us! Before we began the tour I was more than a little curious as to how well it would work, but it’s been working beautifully. We owe a lot of that to Susie Seiter, our touring conductor. She spends 2 hours with the orchestra every day going over the whole show and working through the hard parts, teaching them the music. We actually only get 30 minutes with band and orchestra together every day before the show that night, so most of our performance is being done for the very first time as a group in front of the audience. It creates this very raw energy during the show that I love.
